I am a fairly new investor and love the idea of house hacking, especially with foreclosed and HUD homes to build appreciation fast. I am currently in I have a few questions as far as how your experiences with this strategy went. How did you acquire the property? What type of financing did you obtain? Important lessons you've learned ? Thanks folks ! :D

Currently house hacking a four-unit in the Los Angeles area.

How did you acquire the property?  MLS
What type of financing did you obtain?  FHA
Important lessons you've learned?  Education is key.  You have to do the work and obtain the knowledge, not your agent, not your lender, because no one is as interested in the deal going through as you are.
