R3 in Redondo Beach

Hi BP community,

I put an offer in on a single family home in Redondo Beach. It has one dwelling now but is zoned R3. The lot is a few hundred sq ft short of the R3 building requirement of 5,000sqft. Is there any way to get around this and still build multiple units down the road?
