Refinish/Paint kitchen cabinets on a flip. Would you?

Evening all,

Looking to put a bid on a potential flip. It has cabinets that are in really great shape, would like to use them if at all possible. Thinking of painting them. Have any of you had a good experience reusing or painting the cabinets on a flip.

If the cabinets themselves are in good condition, why not just replace the doors and drawers? Much cheaper and easier than replacing. And brand new doors look like brand new cabinets, better looking than repainted old cabinets

I painted my cabinets at my personal residence twice now. The first time I learned the hard way to make sure you properly sand and use high quality paint... ugh, any contact and the paint would scrape off and look horrible. I had to strip, sand and start all over.

I would be interested to see if it cost less (and looks better) to just replace the doors like @Adrienne Bryson mentioned vs professional painting. -of course it would be cheaper if you were to paint it yourself... but you would need to weigh the cost of your time spent on a project like this.

I've done both, but in hindsight I would guess the homes we've saved kitchen cabinets in ended up with lower sales to asking price ratio. Really depends on your target market and buyer expectations with a rehab. Of course there are exceptions to this generality, but most rehabs do not have decent kitchens, so why save them?

Ive only come across cabinets that are worth keeping as is, or replacing entirely. Never came across any Id consider in between.
