Jackson, MS Property under $1000

Hello BP Family,

This weekend I flew to Jackson, MS to check out their blighted residential inventory, which is well over 1000 properties.

I am weary of buying anything due to what appears to be a stagnant chamber of commerce and city council (Hines County). Has anyone had any success in flipping or renting in jackson? Has anyone ever just torn down the structures and rebuilt in Jackson? Any GC references?

Thanks for the help!!!

Ashleigh,  properties that you can buy for 1k are not candidates for new construction.

as @David Sugg suggests there are VERY FEW areas of jackson were you can build new and sell for profit.  I would suggest you go check out Charleston SC  we are active there and have been for the last 4 years it has a VERY robust infil new construction market.. of course price points start at 300k .. our current builds there are 350 to 700k.

you can do 300 to 700k and above if you go up to Madison MS..  I lived at Reunion for a year thats  a very nice development gold course lake etc.. suggest you focus your attention there if you want to build new construction.. forget about Jackson proper... VERY tough place to make that work.. there are a very select handful of locals that make it work.. and thats about it.
