Massachusetts vs RI

Currently live in southern MA on the RI border, looking at purchasing a rental property. Can anyone explain pros/cons of buying in RI vs MA? Also, how would living in MA affect buying investment property in RI? I have noticed that just over the border in Woonsocket/providence prices for multi families are much cheaper.

The laws in MA heavily favor the tenants, and the courts tend to be anti landlord and pro tenant.  You will find plenty of professional tenants in MA that have learned how to work this in their favor.  I assume the same is true in RI, but I'd attend RIREIG and talk to folks there, @Anthony Thompson can fill you in on where and when.
