@Zachary Foust It is what you put into it. Getting your license teaches you about the laws governing RE brokerage, but it teaches you nothing about getting clients or how to run your business. If you already have an entrepreneurial spirit, you might have the right mindset anyway. It is hard to find clients, and in a hot market, it's hard to find homes for the clients you have. Focusing on listings makes better sense in a seller's market. Be prepared to have your friends and family not use you to sell their home, especially when you're new. There are ongoing fees for your license and access to the MLS, so if you are going to do it, make sure you are going to use it!

Being a real estate agent first. I know being licensed and having access to the MLS is quite valuable. But is it worth the time and money to get it? And how easy/hard is it to be an agent? I'm already a part time entrepreneur so I'm used to long hours and writing my own check. Any life experience advice from anyone?
