Hey all, I am trying to determine a good post age of homes to purchase but not sure where to find the information I need to do so for my area, or in general. I’m looking for long term investments so buy and hold. I live in roanoke va, but investing in Lynchburg which is only 45 minutes from my home. What I cannot determine is when homes in the area began being build to more up to date code. Meaning primarily updated electrical, not having knob and tube, or 2 wire (as my personal residence does, built 1945). So there is that concern, I don’t know when homes in my area were required to be build with 3 wire common ground electrical, and then there’s the plumbing of course, I don’t know when iron was no longer allowed either. Hope this makes sense and can get some answered as to where or just how to go about finding that information for my area. Or if every area is pretty much the same then that would be even better!
