Montgomery AL or Memphis TN SFH

I am looking to purchase a SFH in either Memphis Tennessee or Montgomery, Al . Any advice on these two areas would be greatly appreciated. T

I prefer Memphis but that’s just me and I haven’t looked into montogomery at all
