[Bay Area] San Jose Real Estate

Hi all,

I'm currently looking for a SFR in the San Jose area to house hack. Based on my budget, it seems there are two areas in San Jose that fit my criteria: South San Jose and Alum Rock. I will be driving through looking at houses in these areas this weekend, but I first wanted to see if anyone here has any thoughts/advice on these areas, such as crime trends, appreciation, which streets are safer, etc. Thanks.
