Is this mold, mildew, or feces?

Hello,

Just completed a home inspection and spotted two troubling signs. The home inspector believes the black spots are roach droppings. These were found between insulation and ceiling drywall in attic. The white spots sort of look sprayed on. Isolated to a 6x6 area near the attic entrance.
