How to buy a foreclosed house?

Question

Hey all, I'm new to real estate investing and I see loads of houses on Zillow that are Pre-auction/foreclosed. How do you start the process? On sites like Zillow it says to hire a foreclosure specialist, is it just a matter of hiring someone like that? I know some direct you to auction sites but others don't really have much information on it. Sorry if this is an obvious question.Thanks!

No apology is needed for the question! However, since the specifics of foreclosure are dictated by whichever state you are in, no one here can help you much without knowing where you are located.

Your BiggerPockets profile is the "face" you are presenting to the entire community here, and right now yours is completely blank. I strongly encourage you to spend a few minutes updating it to at least indicate what kind of investor you are (or hope to be), where you are operating from (ideally, a city and state), and what you want to learn here about real estate.
