My motivation is learning new things, achieving goals, and providing knowledge to people. I like challenges and meeting people. I want to create deals that make everyone happy.

If I make some money along the way that's great. Cheers!

I want financial freedom, so I can have time to do things that fulfill me. As well as being able to retire early and spend time with the people I love.

Real estate for me started out as my main tool to reach Financial Independence (FI) and have the option of quitting my 9-5 in Finance. I reached that goal a lot faster than I anticipated and in the process fell in love with the real estate industry. I no longer work my 9-5 finance job but I find myself working from 7am - 9pm helping my clients and mentee's get started in real estate, or further along on their path to FI. I've started many businesses over the years but Real Estate, from my perspective, is unlike anything else out there. I learn something everyday and get paid to interact with amazing people.

As others have said on this thread, I have a great job, it just requires way too much travel. My motivation is to create cash flow that will allow me to reduce my travel time, be more selective about the work I take, and just have more time to spend with my family. I've always been a handy guy, and I love the idea of improving properties. Just need to find a place to start.

@Tyler Jahnke I love this right here. “Real Estate has changed my life for the better.” Plain and simple - has a positive impact on your life and you love it. What gets better than that while producing some serious life changing financial opportunities?

Creating a life full of freedom, one where money is never an issue, and helping others in the process...

Nothing beats seeing others hitting their goals because you played a part, however small, in their success!

For me it's freedom. I took over a business from another chemist who worked hard his whole life and retired at 65. Three weeks after retirement he died. I don't want to work in a dangerous environment until my last days. No one looks back on their life and says "I wish I would have worked more". I wanna be free to travel and spend time with my wife. Oh and retire in Costa Rica, Pura Vida!

    1.  Pay off my mom’s student debt.  She got her doctorate from an Ivy League college.  She’s mounds in debt.  She’s an OG that makes a ton of sacrifices.

    2.  Give my dad a solid way to retire.  He’s been a cop for a long time.  He’s always been a bad spender.  Hopefully I can help mitigate that with some extra monthly cash flow.

    3.  Teach my brothers how to invest.  That way, whatever they do, they have their own insurance Incase anything goes south with their regular jobs.

    4.  Create a legacy for my family name.  I want to build something great that keeps growing long after I’m gone.

I would love to be able to do this for my mother some day. She has a lot of school debt and is a cancer survivor and has a lot of medical bills.

Good luck with your goals and I hope they happen for you.

I want my retirement funds to perform much better than conventional funds, and I also want to make sure my investments go toward something that makes the world a better place. I worry that in IRAs and 401ks a lot of my funds could be in companies that do morally objectionable things, and I'd have no idea that I was part of the problem by motivating them to maximize profits by any means necessary.

As an active duty soldier, I’m always gone... One day I was pushing my daughters on the swing set trying to figure out what to do with my life. I realized that what I wanted to do in life was push my daughters on the swing and just be a good dad. I’ve always loved real estate dating back to college. Real estate can make that dream happen for me, and it can do it for anyone who is willing to put in the work. My kids are my “Why” and they are what motivates me to give them and my wife a better life.

To have time freedom! To plan and choose my day. Spend more time with family, friends and loved ones.

To have my assets pay for my liabilities.

To have money work for money!

To fund my basic needs and my lifestyle. I love real estate, it is a fun challenge every day. but I don't kid myself I do it for the money.
The goal is to get enough passive income so I don't have to do it any more.

@Jessica Krueger financial freedom from the long term strong cash flow... Having a fleet of investment properties always keeps me striving to obtain the next deal at a better deal than the last. I prefer the value add strategy, as I like to rehab all my properties and transition them into lucrative rental properties.

I rarely sell, and if I do it is just to use those proceeds to buy 2 more distressed properties that I can come in and bring back to life. I think with real estate the biggest misconception most have is it is a get rich quick industry. When in fact, it is the complete opposite. It is long term wealth, that takes several years of patience and discipline from overseeing a portfolio of properties that bring in positive cash flow.

I always try and encourage those to think the bigger picture mindset and think 10, or 20 year plays with every investment.

My motivation is that I was homeless, I just love the idea that someone who was homeless earlier in life can turn around and own homes AND offer housing for others.

@Jessica Krueger I got into real estate for financial freedom. I liked the idea of creating passive income and early retirement. I am up to 4 properties (14 units) in Columbus, Ohio. The 10 stabilized units generate about $3,500/month in net income.
