Remaining months rent back at closing?

I just closed on my first property yesterday. I assumed the closing company would get a check for the remainder of the current tenants month rent from the owner, by they didn't. Since it closed six days before the end of the month shouldn't I have received a check for six days of rent the tenant paid to the owner?
