Vacant lots and land

Curious about buying vacant lots and land in hopes that they appreciate or that the city or someone wishes to develop them. I was wondering what people’s experience has been with this and whether it’s a good investment?

Adding to what is already been said. What is the current zoning? What is around it? Land in the middle of no where doesn't just appreciate. I know people who "land bank" and hold the land for decades and that is their strategy. This is not for the faint of heart and is more speculation then anything. Most investors want control of their cash flow and land banking won't cut it

in the US some of the biggest profits are made buying land in the path of progress Hands down.

the key is understanding where that path is going and get ahead of it.

also in major metro areas that are re gentrifying Infill lots can be a huge play especially if you know how to re establish the old plats.

then you have the high desert or remote western US land and FLA land were you buy it very cheap and sell for a little more many folks do well with that strategy..
