Illinois - is it worth investing in

I’m currently located in Springfield Illinois, is it even worth investing in anything in the state everyone wants to leave or should I go ahead and look elsewhere?

I have 15 rentals in Illinois and two in Wisconsin.  Yes taxes are higher in Illinois, but the rents are also higher.   By right and you can make money in any area.
