Mobile home title surrendered?

Question

I'm sure this varies from state to state, but as far as the Jacksonville, Fl area goes (more specifically Clay County), what is the most accurate way to tell if a mobile home has had it's title surrendered? Is it when you see the home described on the deed?

Also, if you buy a mobile home at a foreclosure auction, how do you get ahold of the title if it has not been surrendered? (I feel like this may be a "you don't" type of answer.)

@Charity Skore I now realize that I should clarify a bit more.

I have seen a few auctions where they are selling a lot that is zoned for a mobile home, but the home is not specifically noted on the courthouse record, and others which specifically describe the mobile home as well as the lot itself. With that said, each of the auctions still say that they are selling the home along with the lot. So, it seems that someone may think they are buying the home, but if the title wasn't surrendered, they would really only be buying the lot under the home.

Are you talking about just the mobile home itself or has the mobile home been permanently affixed to a foundation where there is a complete foreclosure.

Most states you will transfer and search titles through either the DMV or through a local state run housing and urban development department.
