Calling On Advice For Millennials Getting Started In Real Estate

Hello BP Community!

My name is Alex Jackson. I’m from Culver City, CA (West Los Angeles Area). In the last few years I’ve done a fair bit of research and reading on Real Estate and have been studying the subject extensively, almost to the point of obsession. My dilemma is that I am beginning my journey in the field of RE with little to no money. Is there any advice that some of you seasoned RE professionals could pass down to me? Ex. Things that you’ve done to help guide you towards success and also things that you would’ve done differently.

I have some experience in sales and negotiation as I spent some time in the automotive industry doing luxury floor and internet sales.

My research has led me to believe that one of the most accessible ways to begin would be to start out wholesaling. In the long run I plan to be fully devoted to investing and flipping properties, as well as buying and holding. Honest opinions?

From what I’ve read, wholesaling in CA is a little hairy.

Last but not least, are there any suggestions on finding a local mentor in my area? If so, how should I approach that conversation?

Thank you in advance for your great input and taking the time to even acknowledge my post. Look forward to the information!
