Whats inventory like in your state

I'm a new agent in NJ and if you've lived or conducted any kind of real estate business in NJ you know this to be true. I also have a friend who lives in Arizona who happens to be a Realtor there and says the same thing. So now im curious. Whats inventory like in your state and is low inventory a national thing? Is it purely over population?
