Hey BP family,

I need your help.I am new to real estate investing and searching for my first fix and flip. I have contacted a real estate attorney to draft a contract that I can use when hiring my GC (I will not be doing the work myself). The question is can you give me your top 5 things you would want in a contract for your contractor? Thanks in advance.

@Mathew Paul you make a valid point but, I would prefer to use my contract. I will suggest using my contract if they insist using there’s I will take it to my attorney and have it review it and make any additions or subtractions to the contract.

I have been a contractor since 1981 , my contract is now over 15 pages .  If a customer doesnt like it , they can hire someone else . Honestly I would be more concerned if you found a licensed contractor that would sign your contract . In Maryland a contract has to contain specific verbage , and thats the contractors responsibility to have it all in the agreement .
