Owner-Builder Construction Loan

I am looking to build on a lot I own in Clyde, NC. Does anyone have any tips on where to secure an owner-builder loan?  It’s pretty scarce with a few banks telling me to find a builder to “sign off” on my project and that they wouldn’t be visiting the site for verification. Any tips?
