Home nspections with utilities turned off

Hi folks,

I'm looking at placing offers on a few SFH's that have been disconnected from utilities for the past few months. I've already been in the units with my broker and am satisfied that they are structurally sound, have no insect issues, and that roofs all seem in good shape. I'm somewhat concerned about getting adequate inspections done with the utilities disconnected, and unsure whether or not we would even be able to have them reconnected during DD. I suppose we could hook up a portable generator to the panel to test wiring, but does anyone have any experience with this kind of situation and suggestions?

Thanks,
Chris

PS  - houses are located in NC if that matters

THink you need to do something to get power.  The inpector's going to go thru with his socket checker for improper wiring and I'd like to do that before I buy.
