Getting Started - Need some advice and mentorship!

Hi all!

I am relatively new at BP; I am a 19yr old college student from NYC, and I'm really interested in investing in real estate. I am reading a lot about real estate investing and personal finance; books, webinars, youtube videos, and much more. I am in school, and work part time as well so I am making some money to maybe get started. I am interested in beginning my journey in wholesaling, as I've read that is a great way to start with little money. My goal is to use wholesaling as a means to end to start bigger projects, get a lot of rental properties and hopefully transition into development because well I'm young and money crazed to be very honest. Is this the best way to go about? Looking for educational suggestions, maybe advice on how to find mentors in real estate (upstate NY or Long Island area), or really anything to help get started. Appreciate any advice I can get! Thank you ahead of time!
