Short term rentals in Miami beach

I am currently an investor in Maryland. I am looking to explore my options in the Miami beach area investing in Short term rentals - I would eventually like to retire in that area as well. Does anyone have any experience in this market? City guidelines for STR's, local laws, investment realtor you can recommend, etc.
