How Old of a Home Will you Acquire

When considering acquiring a property, how old of a building will you buy? I'm trying to stay newer than 1980 so I'm far enough removed from lead pipes and asbestos. What do you guys think?

Replied

The 1970s had a lot of weird cost cutting measures in construction. Cheap and inferior materials were very common. I prefer to avoid those. We actually haven't run into asbestos or lead pipes yet, I think most of that has been remediated. I have one now that was built in the early 60s and needs a ton of hidden updating. It's solid, but dated.
