55 or over community

Can someone under 55 own and rent out a property in a 55 or over community.  In my area there are a lot of these communities within driving distance and the properties are much cheaper, often by over $100k.

Generally speaking the answer is no. But ask each development if they allow your situation. But I suspect they will say no.

Yeah I kinda figured.funny the fact is a 1/1 house costs $125k in those communities but not in those communities it would be closer to $300k.

I owned rentals in an "over 50" community. Those properties are generally less expensive than comparable properties . The main downside was that like many retirement communities the HOA was high and always going up which is why I sold for a nice profit and invested elsewhere.
