commitment conditions

Hello BP members,

This site has truly been an amazing resource! I have a quick question. I have a commitment letter that requires that the "range/oven and areas around the range/oven" be inspected by an electrician and proven to be in working order.

The property is a short sale and has no electricity. The sellers are unresponsive and don't seem to care. The range is gas, the wall oven is electric. I am not sure how to proceed and only have three days to get this done and cleared by the bank. Any advice?

Should I try to see if I can get the electricity turned on prior to closing before I call the electrician?

Thanks in advance for your advice!
