What Makes YOUR Realtor Oustanding?

I would love to hear from successful investors who have a realtor who is an incredible member of their team! What makes that person stand out for you?

First, they follow up making sure everything is being done timely no matter which side you are on from inspection to appraisal to title work to termite clearance to survey if required to making sure any loan is progressing.  This is basic but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen realtors drop the ball and not staying on top of things.

Second is if you are very active does the realtor provide new listings within your parameters right away?  Does the realtor provide you with pocket listings to give you a leg up?  These are some things some investors are looking for.

Is their advice reliable?

Does the realtor/their agency have an “in” with the type of properties you are looking for?  A realtor who does a lot of property management may know a landlord who is wanting to phase out of properties and be able to help you land an off market deal.  One agency may do a lot of business in the couple neighborhoods you are interested in so more likely to get a first look/contact.  Some realtors may have a lot of contacts that are helpful to you.

I don’t think this is a one size fits all but their strengths add to yours.

Hi @Valerie Post, I am a realtor and an investor too, an ideal realtor doesn’t just sell properties, We sell ourselves. It is very important to show your real personality. You need to have a great attitude, you need to be honest, knowledgeable, you also need confidence in your abilities and most especially you need to be interested  in helping others.
