Best Way to Stay in My Apartment with Rent-to-Own or as Property Manager?

Hello friends,

I hope you all are well. Quick question--I am currently renting and absolutely love my apartment. However, I need to begin to build sustainable wealth for myself. I would love to stay here with either a lease-to-own-option, or, to get a big cut off of my rent as a property manager for the building, since I am a licensed real estate agent. What would you say is the best way to negotiate this? Thank you again for your help :)

Hi, what Kevin is saying about compensation is 100% correct, but may be slightly different here if you request for discounted rent rather than receiving cash compensation directly. I also think the rules vary whether you collect other tenants rent or not.

Talk to your broker about it to ensure what you propose to your landlord isn’t against their policies and following all the right disclosure requirements to your landlord and tenants.
