Starting off with commercial real estate
Just curious, has anyone on here started off with commercial real estate? Meaning, your very first deal as a Real Estate investor was for a property with more than, let's say 16 units. If so, how did you do it?

Most begin with smaller or single units to gain experience, but if you have the capital you can jump into the deep end, you can hire management.
Financing will be commercial and with that borrowers will be required to show the ability to manage their business venture, the lack of knowledge and experience usually means the borrower will need to show stronger financial abilities to compensate for their newness.
If you fit the bill of having the capital, chances are you're more business minded, you've handled money, worked with banks and investments, so you're starting out a couple floors above those with no experience in business matter (and little in life). If that fits you, go for it as far as residential/commercial.
Now, commercial, retail, manufacturing, agricultural, etc., you better get some specialized experience first! :)
