Hi All, I am posting this for my brother.  He has a job in a different field, and just a week ago passed the NY State Exam.   he would to start as a commercial agent in NYC, however is looking to see if any company would be give some sort of Salary (even a small one) or Draw. Can anyone help?

Good Luck. I haven't seen draw type situations in commercial for over a decade. Most firms it's you eat when you close something.

It's too easy for people to get paid something to do just enough to survive. When that security blanket is taken away from them  they have to make it happen or fail. That is when someone finds out what they are truly made of. People want to achieve their  dreams but want a fail safe mechanism just in case it doesn't work out. By doing that they are already telling themselves they have a high chance of failure.

You need generally about 6 months worth of reserves to get started in commercial. So if basics cost 100k then at least 50k saved up.
