Any experience with on-line investment group CADRE?

Question

Thinking of investing with project-specific on-line investment group called CADRE. Not sure of their reputation. They are making Opportunity Zone investments on an individual project basis. Is this a legitimate group with legitimate passive income and limited liability exposure? New to this type and method of investment. Plus, new to this company.

Ozones as you know are very new as are the funds that have been created to invest in them.

CADRE has assembled a team of former Wall Street investment bankers to invest in large chunks of equity in Ozone projects. These types of projects do carry more risk than traditional syndications as they are ground up developments and heavy renovations. They are too new to have any sort of performance track record. It’s all speculation.

I’ve decided to explore the Ozone concept further by attending an all-day expert seminar in Dallas. I also talked to the cadre investor relations person by phone. They seem to be structuring this particular 2-project investment around a family office.  One existing apartment project in Dallas (which I visited) is being placed in service shortly; the other is an apartment development project in bishop arts (from scratch). At least it’s in my back yard so to speak.

Anything new and highly speculative you might not want to invest at all or only do a tiny slice of your net worth so if it goes bad and you lose all the investment or most of it then the hit is not as big.

Read the documents, i think there is plenty of Due Diligence you can perform.

thanks, and thanks for the caution about the risk associated with new, long term development projects. I’m considering cadre for capital gains investment as well new funds. They seem professional in their webinars.
