What interests you about CRE? I would focus on one asset type, one type of product and location. Then go be the expert on cap rate, recent sales, big owners, development pipeline, etc.

You should start by educating yourself about commercial real estate through books, podcasts and of course networking. Start with the two of David Lindahl's books. It will give you a good foundation.
