Running a self storage facility remotely

Corey Kane
Posted

Hi, Looking for advice on buying an affordable self storage facility in another part of the country that can be run remotely. I live in New England and they are very expensive. Is this possible or a good idea ? Build my own? Suggestions? Thanks

@Corey Kane, the advice in this thread is spot on.  A remote self storage facility is only as successful as the systems you have in place.  Electronics, kiosks, apps, and, honestly, good people you can depend on locally can all make life easy or hard.  With the technology available on the market right now - and an honest budget regarding how you'll manage the facility - running remotely does not represent any real challenge.
