Can I buy gold & silver with my solo 401k

Question

Merry Christmas everyone!...I think...No Interest rate for a decade, QE after QE for a decade...worldwide.   Uh....Can I buy physical gold & silver with my solo 401k?  I have non, need to get to 10-15% yesterday.  Thoughts or ideas?  Thx.

You can certainly invest a solo 401k in certain precious metals as long as certain requirements are met, such as the pureness level requirement of  .995 fineness (99.5% pure).

Here are some popular GOLD metals that can be held in both IRAs and solo 401k plans.

• American Buffalo bullion coins

• Australian Kangaroo/Nugget bullion coins

• Austrian Philharmonic bullion coins

• Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins

Here are some popular SILVER metals that can be held in both IRAs and solo 401k plans.

• American the Beautiful bullion coins

• Australian Kookaburra bullion coins

Jeff, you have to keep your metals in the third party depository. There are companies offering such service. I don't invest in metals because they don't really offer any growth potential, therefore don't have any recommendations, you'll have to research on your own. Perhaps you can put up to 10% of your portfolio in it as hedge against inflation, but I would not recommend any more than that. Even in this market you can find opportunities to invest in something better: you could do some private lending, invest in syndication or note fund. If you do your due diligence you can find low risk investment with return in the neighborhood of 10% annually.

I need to put my 2 cents here because I know what's going on behind the scenes with the market , everybody is running scared going for gold and silver (physical assets) and bitcoin and real estate. Yes there is a huge bubble and it will burst but so what , Trump will audit the the fed and take them down and make a reset. It's that simple. you could have made a killing shorting the Tech markets in Nasdaq with spreads with options during the votality in the past months or just do like billionaire Ichan and buy and hold good long term yield stocks and become rich longterm. People like to make things complicated in the stock market but can be just simple if your head is right. As for the entertainment buisness , the childrens market is killing it on youtube channels. The childrens entertainment was and is always will be king , while many investors are playing it safe with real estate , there are startups on youtube making a killing 50,000 to 100,000 a month and some equity firms are starting to get in the game with these channels , Moonbug entertainment runned by a husband a wife team with their childrens cartoons with millions of youtube views plus a month just rasied capital for over 100 million with a equity firm this week. Talk about hitting the lottery with just putting up nursery rhymes cartoons , Ha Ha !!!
