Newbie Tax deed question

I am thinking about purchasing a home off the L.A.F.T. in Alabama. Is there an alternative way to get title insurance on the property without having to quiet title? What are my options?

Another suggestion is to contact the previous owners and try to convince them to sign a quit claim deed. This can be cheaper and faster than a quiet title suit.
