Attorneys on my team

I'm not too sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm currently looking for my real estate and sec attorney to have on hand when I come across my first deal, so I'm not frantically searching for the right one when the time comes. I've some across a couple of questions though,  1. Does location really matter? If so can anyone in Atlanta or surrounding metro areas give any references on attorneys who are vetted and or you have used before? 2. Is there a difference between a real estate attorney and a syndication attorney or would the syndication attorney be more similar to the sec attorney? Google has confused me a tad bit and I just want to be clear!

@Jonathan Bell, an SEC attorney is your syndication attorney.  He/she will create the legal structure and the documents you need for your syndication.  You should interview several to see which one best fits your needs and personality.  This attorney can be located anywhere.  Some you might want to check out are Kim Lisa Taylor, Jillian Sidoti, Mauricio Rauld, and Dugan Kelley.

You also need a commercial real estate attorney who can handle the buy/sell transactions and knows the state and local laws and regulations. Some SEC attorneys do both or have other attorneys on staff who can handle the CRE transactions.

Good luck to you!
