Networking? What do I do now?

Question

I would like to connect with like minded individuals. People who want to do multi-family deals of all sizes but I have yet to meet anyone who have similar ambitions all-be-it this is my first post as such. Any advice? Anyone want to connect?

Make a post over in the commercial section.  Pick a listed deal in your area.  Do a deal analysis.   Don’t worry about being correct.  Only spend 2 hours on it.   Ask for people’s insight.  Put Florida or Miami in the title so those people with those flags will get notified about your post.

Or use the lookup magnifying glass.  Put Miami or Florida.  Pick a posted and engage with them.  Ask them for REI meetups.

@Leslie L Meneus, while the forums can be pretty good, in-person networking and sharing ideas is much more valuable.  If you are in Miami or surrounding area, there are likely tons of networking events.

Go to Meetup.com and type "real estate" or "Apartment Investing" or other search terms for your area.

Find the REIA group for your area

As Henry noted, post something specific for your area and tag your market.

Get on Loopnet for your area and property type, reach out to the brokers that are listing deals and offer to take to coffee (they are often invested in deals too but you could ask for connections to other operators that might be getting started).

And, again as Henry noted, each person you meet, ask them what other networking events they have attended that you can put on your list.

@Leslie L Meneus, I forgot to mention the "in-between" conferences.  I call them in-between because they are conferences, so not like your local meetups, but they are not truly "industry" conferences like NMHC, where you will meet primarily career, corporate multi-family people.

Bigger Pockets Conference and Best Ever Conference are two that likely would cater to people more in your position.  A lot of active investors looking to learn more from the people that are doing something more than they are currently.

@Ken M. Hmm. Thanks. Need to know knowledge. Honestly, I've joined a few guru's community (I paid for the memberships of coarse) but nothing happen. No deal(s) just insights & offers to obtain a premium membership that cost ten times the membership you already have (with monthly or annual dues). There's no way not to agree with you here & I appreciate your response.

@Matthew Drouin I haven't even dreamed of doing what I'm talking about but research the subject I've been brought to various YouTube video offer case studies & case analysis which would have me to believe deals can be done by lone individuals without any capital of their own being spent. Therefore this post but those numbers (thank you) eye opening.
