Omaha Multi-Family Inspections
I currently own several units in Council Bluffs, IA and am looking to expand into the Omaha market, with a focus on multi-family properties.
I’m hoping to get some insight into what larger items inspectors in the area are flagging that could be potential deal-breakers. I'm less concerned with smaller issues like exposed wiring or missing handrails, and more interested in significant items that could require $5,000+ in repairs—even if they don’t immediately affect safety or functionality.
For example, I’ve heard that in some cases inspectors are requiring separate furnaces for each unit, which could be expensive to retrofit into older buildings.
Any insight from local investors or inspectors would be greatly appreciated!
