Section 8 in Columbus

Greetings! I have a SFR investment property in Columbus that is doing well. I'd like to expand my portfolio and generally stay away from section 8. Unfortunately for me, there seems to be some good opportunities in that market right now.
Does anyone have any:
1) experience doing section 8 in Columbus, GA?
2) tips for this investment strategy here (specifically due to the high crime rate in certain areas)
3) any desire to partner up or even just help me analyze a couple deals I'm considering

Like I said, this isn't my typical strategy but due to some cash I have available and a couple properties on the market, I'm strongly considering moving into the market.
