For the Multifamily Investors

I am working on underwriting multifamily properties right now, and I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on how investors find people for their syndications. I think that’s one of the hardest parts, especially when starting. Credibility can be one of the biggest hurdles too. Curious to see what you guys think!

From what I've seen, most successful syndicators don't start by finding investors; they start by building relationships.

A lot of newer sponsors focus on the capital first, but credibility is usually built over time through experience, education, networking, and consistently showing people how you evaluate opportunities. As a co-founder of a co-investing club, one thing I've noticed is that investors tend to back people they trust and understand, not just deals with attractive projections. The relationship often comes before the investment opportunity.
