Reference check on NYC mortgage broker

I'm trying to get a mortgage on my triplex.  I was referred to a mortgage broker in NYC, and I've been working with him.  Before I get to the point no return, I wanted to see if anyone here knows him, and has worked with him.

His name is Alex Elezaj at Black Mountain Capital.  I think the company is his operation.

Any help appreciated.

Also 2.25% to the lender at closing is rather large, unless you're buying the rate down to something super sexy. I'm going to guess that half of that is going to whoever referred you to this person, as an illegal kickback.
