I am interested in additional training and was curious if someone out there has a coach or mentor who helped you become successful...

Any advice and help is apprecieated..

Thanks

Jeff

Jeez, these days, the question is more like, "Who DOESN'T offer training and coaching?" Many of the book authors listed in my post about multifamily books here seem to offer coaching. Many of the authors are also podcasters and share much of their knowledge on those.

I like author Craig Haskell's  http://www.valuehoundacademy.com/public/department...

I also like author Lance Edwards, http://www.apartmentwealthinfo.com/

Author Theresa Bradley Banta offers http://theresabradleybanta.com/real-estate-mentori...

The Michael Blank offers http://www.ultimateapartmentinvestingguide.com/

Jake and Gino offer https://jakeandgino.mykajabi.com/store

http://www.multifamilypartner.com/the-most-powerfu... looks interesting.

Because he's a lawyer, I'd be tempted by Charles Dobens' Multifamily Investing Academy. https://www.multifamilyinvestingacademy.com/

"The Google" turned up http://www.multifamilypartner.com/the-most-powerfu...

and Chris Urso has http://www.eliteapartmentcoaching.com/

In the end, reading the books I mentioned in my other post should get you 80% there in the education dept. If you want mentoring/coaching, then any of the authors should be able to help....or just meet a MF investor in your local REIA and ask him or her to help you. Personally, I think $300 is all training/coaching is worth...any more than that, and I think you are wasting your money or you are just too lazy to read the books, watch the videos, and listen to the podcasts.

There are so many free if not very cheap resources out there like BP, their and other books, podcasts and blogs that one doesn't need to pay an arm and a leg to have knowledge. Joe Fairless, Wheelbarrow Profits, Rich Dad...all great resources

@Quay Wallace Watkins, I recommend looking into Jonathan Twombly at Two Bridges Asset Management.  He has a Multifamily Investment Community on Facebook which provides insight into his area of focus and general approach.  You can also look into Chris Urso at URS Capital Partners.  Both are located in the NY metro area and are active multifamily Investors.

    @Vinney Chopra - Best mentor / investor / motivator.
Hearing @Vinney Chopra at one of the podcasts, I knew he was the doer. I've reached out, invited him to breakfast exactly a year ago, I saw what he was doing in multifamily industry and followed him. Today he is my mentor, I shadowed him in Texas, saw his properties, his company culture, and I can say that @Vinney Chopra is the best mulitifamily syndication businessman and mentor. He does facebook live shows every Friday at 10am PST, and his priceless course can be found on multifamilysyndicationacademy.com

I'd like to meet other apartment investors and maybe do deals together but does it make sense to go all the way to TX? I only want to do local deals , Columbus OH is s great market.

Hi @Jessie Niu, i just went to brad sumrok 's event with the same focus. Met 2 investors there that look in columbus exclusively. Also, his group highlighted columbus as a potential market of interest as well as cincinnati. i think you can benefit from the people in the room, i didn't buy into the program but i had a great time learning and it's very affordable to go to the first event. also 60% of brad's group's deals are outside of the state of texas per him when he presented right now.

Is there any West Coast apartment syndication mentors or coaches who syndicate in the West Coast? Many programs seem to concentrate in the South and the Midwest.

@Gi'angelo Bautista I think Brad comes to Bay Area every couple month or so, so you might be able to check it out. I have been to one of his meetup/seminar in San Jose couple months ago, but I know he is big name in DFW. Other than check out Vinney Chopra who is local to the area - I think he is mostly into syndication.

I know every single one of these people closely and have been in the business for some time. The only questions you need to ask is "how many deals have your students done this year?"  Thats it. Many of these people have podcasts, books and whatever else they can do to "grow" their presence.. Brad has none of that and is strictly a mentor.  I have been to his events and met many of his students and they all praise his program.  I just saw something on FB saying that his students purchased over 500M in apartments in 2018 alone... That to me sounds like a proven winner. I don't know any other programs with students doing that kind of volume.
