I am selling 2 rental properties and hoping to invest in a larger project such as multi family, I would love some advice on books to read or even a great mentor in the area.  Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!

@Lori Allred, are you looking to invest in other people's deals or purchase your own?

Two great books I have read and would recommend are both by Dave Lindahl:

  • Multifamily Millions
  • Emerging Markets

While I have not read the following books myself, other people I respect have recommended them:

  • Steve Berges - The Complete Guide to Buying and Selling Apartment Buildings
  • Craig Haskell - How to take an Apartment Building from Money Pit to Money Maker

There's lots of great podcasts, too.  Here are some of the ones I regularly listen to:

  • Bigger Pockets, especially episode #170 jk ;-)
  • Best Real Estate Investing Advice Ever - Joe Fairless
  • Real Estate Investing for Cash Flow - Kevin Bupp
  • The Commercial Real Estate Show
  • The Lifetime Cash Flow Through Real Estate Investing - Rod Khleif
  • Apartment Building Investing - Michael Blank

And if you're looking for good market research, many of the big brokers put out great reports.  Just register on their websites and you can download them for free:

  • CBRE
  • Marcus and Millichap
  • Berkadia
  • Cushman & Wakefield
  • Colliers

Good luck!!

Andrew
