Where do you buy appliances?

I am looking to DIY renovate my kitchen In my house hack duplex, I was needing to buy a new stove and dishwasher.. looking at the big box stores the cost for a decent one is quite intimidating. And suggestions?

I use Lowes. With their in store credit deal you get an extra 5% off.  I'd buy new...you get the assurance that they will work right for a few years plus you can extend the warranty....

@Chance Schrettenbrunner I  use Costco, or Home Depot.

I use the 10% additional discount for Veterans at Home Depot, that and they usually have good pricing.

All of my rentals are long-term Buy-and-Hold properties so used appliances are not a part of my business model.

Costco or Facebook Marketplace. FB has become a bit expensive with appliances being back ordered. Costco has an excellent delivery, take away, and warranty

You’ll pay even more at an appliance store. Try to find used stuff if that suits your budget better

Big box will give you the most selection. For a rental, go to a local appliance store and ask for the scratch n' dents/open box (big box can have these as well).

I use lowes, usually take advantage of the interest free offer and do a large purchase when they got 2 years free.  Last house we did a 30k shopping trip one weekend for all supplies we needed including appliances we needed for renovation. Was able to leave stuff in store and pick up as needed for big items.  Plus when was done paid off CC over time using cash flow from rentals to didn't cost me anything, as long as paid off in time.  works good for me as free money and can use money other places.  Plus delivery included so they lugged appliances in and up and down stairs for me.  Tip guys doing work.  Gave them each 100 and they did everything for me and took all trash away.  Dudes busted ass getting the appliances into old house and up stairs without one scuff or ding.  Money well spent.

if you can find good used appliances by folks that just like to buy new appliances every few years, those can provide value.  Some people (in nice neighborhoods)  just like to switch out their stuff for all new to match and there is nothing wrong with their exising.  It used to be craigslist, that would have a lot. I've done well with that a number of times, except one time...test before leaving. I also had a new Lowes oven go caput after one year just after the warranty which was very annoying.

@Bruce Woodruff You're correct on the quality level of the Costco appliances.

I use Costco for my $3,600 and up Class A SFR  rentals. I especially like the oversize Washer and Dryer sets at Costco when they are on sale, everything else Home Depot has the better pricing.

Do you have any realtor friends? GE Store has some great pricing for NAR members and free delivery. That is where I have bought all mine.
