Does this forum have a section to find developers?

Question

Looked around the site, I only see lenders, property managers, agents, brokers, etc. but not developers?

Is there a way to find local developers based on zip codes on this forum?

Thanks, it just seems like a miss on the forum. You can search for everything else at the top like agents, lenders, etc. but not developers. It would be great if it was its own category.

No, there isn't.  You'd have to do the research locally, market by market, to determine who the players are.

Many BP members have “keywords” setup. Make a generic post about looking for developers in Market X under getting started or general questions. Lost the major city and maybe the state. Developers, builders and other local experts with that city in their keywords will see your post and respond.

Are you searching for residential or commercial developers?  If you are looking in the area where you live, stop by areas under construction and you can ask.  Or, in most metro areas, you can obtain the list of permits that have been issued, and see who is receiving permits.  It will likely be a web of contractors, engineers, and architects, but some those are ultimately leading to the developer.

Secondarily, from what I see on BP, if you post the specifics about a deal, and if its a good deal, developers will pop up.

You could try typing developer on to the search magnifying glass in upper corner. Not sure if you’d get people with developer in their profile by editing filters. Or if you’d be swamped by forum posts saying developer.

If you can’t search with the search tool by member “category: that would be another miss. If you can’t search, then problem solved.
