Estimating Building Costs

Hi BP,

 I'm looking into several land deal (one even a potential tear down) and I'm struggling with estimating building costs. What are some common price per square foot estimates in the pnw. Obviously I would due my own due diligence on any numbers. 
lastly, what to expect during the permitting process? Costs? Timeline?
