Converting Shed To Studio

Has anyone successfully converted a shed or some other external property into another unit? I have a shed that I'm considering converting to a studio. It doesn't have water/plumbing and it shares the electricity with one of the other units. I'm planning to get a few bids from contractors to see what the costs would be for this.

What are your tips for accomplishing this? Anything to look out for? Should I just get bids from GC's or should I call plumbers/electricians as well? I've never done something this intensive so I'm trying to get a better idea of the process. Thank you!
