Running Conduit through Old Chimney

Posted

I owner occupy an up/down duplex built in 1900 in Minneapolis, MN. There’s a chimney from the basement through the roof that has 2 vent pipes for the boilers running through it, but is otherwise obsolete. I’d like to put a stackable washer and dryer in each units bathroom which are right up against the chimney.

Can I run pvc conduit for the wiring through the chimney for an easy run?

@Dustin Ruff @Bruce Runn May be able to answer this for you. Is the chimney sealed at the roof?
