Contractor didn't appear for the last two week

Hi,

I hired a contractor for my basement remodeling.

he worked 2 and half days, after that he didn't appear for the last two week.

whenever I call him, he says he will come tomorrow, and tomorrow I don't see him.

My concern is , so far we had verbal agreement, I gave him a list of work printed on paper, he looked into that, he has a copy, I have a copy.

but we didn't sign , we agreed on total amount I need to pay. I didn't pay him anything so far.

We didn't sign any paper because he came to my house looked into work, I gave him printed list of work, I was hoping he will add all this work in his formal document and send to me for sign, but instead he told he has employees working for him, and next two days he has nothing to do, so can he start..I said yes.

So, If I don't want to continue, because the way he is working, he may take whole year.

what should I do, how to decide , whatever he did in two days, what I should pay for that, also this is a mental harassment for me also, everyday is type of reserved for me, I can't plan anything.

@Raj G.  Get another contractor working on it.  Time is money.  You had one person on BP offer to come by and give you an estimate-take them up on their offer and get a second person to do the same.
