Is airbnb and vrbo still a good str strategy

So im looking to get my first rental property and i want to put it on airbnb or vrbo! Are they still a good source for str? Is sfh, condos or townhomes better or does it not matter??? Is location still the key??? Where are the hotspots like warmer climates near key attractions??? Am i really just over thinkinking this?? Thanks for all your responses in advance!!
